Como parte de esta iniciativa, el NIVA se propuso estudiar los ecosistemas de praderas marinas, que capturan y almacenan grandes cantidades de CO\u2082. El objetivo era investigar cu\u00e1nto carbono se almacena y comprender mejor los efectos del clima y los impactos humanos en estos h\u00e1bitats costeros sumergidos clave.  <\/p><p>Los m\u00e9todos de seguimiento tradicionales carec\u00edan de la resoluci\u00f3n necesaria para las aguas costeras poco profundas y din\u00e1micas. El Navigator se complement\u00f3 con los m\u00f3dulos CloudStation de Coloraci\u00f3n y Clasificaci\u00f3n del Terreno, que permiten un procesamiento intuitivo de los datos y una separaci\u00f3n precisa entre la vegetaci\u00f3n y el lecho marino. <\/p><p>El sistema result\u00f3 accesible y f\u00e1cil de usar para el equipo de cient\u00edficos y t\u00e9cnicos, mientras que la asistencia de YellowScan proporcion\u00f3 informaci\u00f3n puntual sobre los ajustes de los instrumentos y la resoluci\u00f3n de problemas durante la Navigator<\/a> proporcion\u00f3 densidades de puntos de 70 pts\/m\u00b2 a 50 m AGL y 125 pts\/m\u00b2 a 25 m AGL, con precisiones horizontales y verticales de entre 0,01 y 0,015 m seg\u00fan la altura de vuelo.<\/p><p>Utilizando la funci\u00f3n de Clasificaci\u00f3n del Terreno del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yellowscan.com\/es\/productos\/cloudstation\/\">software YellowScan CloudStation<\/a>, la nube de puntos sin procesar se separ\u00f3 en tierra, superficie del agua, ruido en la columna de agua y fondo marino. Tras la limpieza manual, s\u00f3lo se conservaron los puntos del fondo marino y se refinaron con un modelo de Bosque Aleatorio, en el que la intensidad del punto era la variable m\u00e1s importante, para distinguir la vegetaci\u00f3n del verdadero fondo marino (arena y roca). <\/p><p>Este flujo de trabajo permiti\u00f3 crear Modelos Digitales de Superficie (MDS) de alta resoluci\u00f3n del dosel vegetal y Modelos Digitales del Terreno (MDT) del lecho marino, ambos con una resoluci\u00f3n de 10 cm. Al sustraer el MDT del MDS se obtuvieron los primeros modelos de altura del dosel de las praderas marinas sumergidas con este nivel de detalle, lo que permiti\u00f3 al NIVA cuantificar el volumen del h\u00e1bitat y estimar la captura de carbono en la biomasa a\u00e9rea. <\/p><p>Desde el punto de vista cient\u00edfico, el Navegador proporcion\u00f3 densidades de nubes de puntos de un orden de magnitud superior a los levantamientos LiDAR aerotransportados, lo que permiti\u00f3 un modelado 3D sin precedentes de la vegetaci\u00f3n sumergida. El sistema demostr\u00f3 ser preciso, reproducible, rentable y de manejo intuitivo, mientras que las herramientas de clasificaci\u00f3n y correcci\u00f3n de intensidad de CloudStation agilizaron considerablemente el procesamiento.
