Son sensores activos que emiten radiaci\u00f3n a una longitud de onda determinada y reciben la se\u00f1al de retorno. Existen tres t\u00e9cnicas principales para determinar una medida de distancia a partir de la emisi\u00f3n y recepci\u00f3n de radiaci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser: triangulaci\u00f3n, tiempo de vuelo y desplazamiento de fase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sistemas de medici\u00f3n por triangulaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Se componen de un emisor l\u00e1ser y una c\u00e1mara fijada entre ellos por un \u00e1ngulo constante (figura 1). Se conocen la distancia y la orientaci\u00f3n entre la c\u00e1mara y el transmisor l\u00e1ser. El l\u00e1ser emite sobre el objeto objetivo un patr\u00f3n, que se visualiza en la imagen de la c\u00e1mara. Dependiendo de la distancia a la superficie, el punto aparece en una ubicaci\u00f3n diferente en el campo de visi\u00f3n de la c\u00e1mara. Mediante trigonometr\u00eda, es posible determinar la distancia entre la fuente l\u00e1ser y el objeto objetivo. Esta t\u00e9cnica se utiliza principalmente en sistemas LiDAR port\u00e1tiles que funcionan a distancias cortas.<\/p>\n<p>En este tipo de sistema, el error de medici\u00f3n est\u00e1 directamente relacionado con la distancia al objeto medido. Por esta raz\u00f3n, se utiliza principalmente en un rango limitado de aplicaciones, a menudo inferior a 10 m. Conociendo el \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n del medio y utilizando la velocidad de la luz, es posible deducir la distancia de recorrido de la luz (figura 2).<\/p>\n<p>La limitaci\u00f3n del rendimiento de los sistemas l\u00e1ser ToF es la velocidad de adquisici\u00f3n. Estos sistemas necesitan recibir primero la se\u00f1al de retorno antes de emitir otro pulso l\u00e1ser. Pero en funci\u00f3n de las necesidades es posible aumentar la cadencia de los disparos l\u00e1ser (n\u00famero de puntos) pero a costa de la distancia. Se utilizan para c\u00e1lculos de distancias de largo alcance, como LiDAR espacial, a\u00e9reo o de automoci\u00f3n. Modul\u00e1ndolo (en amplitud de frecuencia), es posible entonces medir la diferencia de fase entre 2 haces. Los haces se separan a la salida del sistema LiDAR. Una va directamente al detector y la segunda va al objetivo y vuelve.<\/p>\n<p>Estos sistemas de medici\u00f3n suelen tener una mayor velocidad de adquisici\u00f3n de datos, mejor resoluci\u00f3n, menor ruido y mayor precisi\u00f3n que los sistemas de medici\u00f3n del tiempo de vuelo. El l\u00edmite de estos sistemas depende del tipo de modulaci\u00f3n utilizada (aperi\u00f3dica o peri\u00f3dica). Esta tecnolog\u00eda se encuentra en sistemas de medio alcance como los esc\u00e1neres LiDAR terrestres y de interiores.<\/p>\n<p><em>N.B.
