Ces pixels sont un composant des photodiodes qui convertissent la lumi\u00e8re en un signal \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n<p>On croit souvent que plus il y a de pixels, meilleure est l&rsquo;image, mais ce n&rsquo;est pas tout \u00e0 fait vrai ! En photographie, de nombreux param\u00e8tres entrent en jeu et modifient la qualit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;image finale.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;un des param\u00e8tres que nous ne voyons pas souvent est la taille du pixel. Plus la surface d&rsquo;un pixel est grande, plus il re\u00e7oit de lumi\u00e8re ! Une photo sous-expos\u00e9e fera dispara\u00eetre les d\u00e9tails dans les zones sombres telles que les ombres entre les arbres serr\u00e9s. Au contraire, une photo surexpos\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0br\u00fblera\u00a0\u00bb les zones lumineuses, comme un rocher de couleur claire \u00e9clair\u00e9 par un soleil au z\u00e9nith.<\/p>\n<p>Pour rappel, l&rsquo;exposition est r\u00e9gie par trois param\u00e8tres : le temps d&rsquo;exposition, p\u00e9riode pendant laquelle le capteur est expos\u00e9 \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re ; l&rsquo;ouverture, qui permet de modifier la quantit\u00e9 de lumi\u00e8re admise par l&rsquo;objectif de l&rsquo;appareil photo et l&rsquo;ISO, la valeur de sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du capteur.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cas de syst\u00e8mes LiDAR mont\u00e9s sur des vecteurs mobiles int\u00e9grant des vibrations, le temps d&rsquo;exposition doit \u00eatre court pour \u00e9viter le flou de boug\u00e9. Certains objectifs ont une ouverture fixe, d&rsquo;autres peuvent \u00eatre plus ou moins ouverts en fonction des conditions de luminosit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p>Enfin, une r\u00e8gle empirique concernant la sensibilit\u00e9 ISO est de la maintenir aussi basse que possible. En effet, si vous devez augmenter l&rsquo;ISO, en raison d&rsquo;un manque de lumi\u00e8re (jour d&rsquo;hiver, fin de journ\u00e9e, latitudes extr\u00eames), alors du bruit appara\u00eetra sur l&rsquo;image d\u00e9gradant la qualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3>Une petite d\u00e9finition<\/h3>\n<p>La d\u00e9finition du capteur de votre appareil photo, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire le nombre de pixels, reste un facteur important dans le rendu final de votre photo. Plus votre image est compos\u00e9e de pixels, plus le niveau de d\u00e9tail est fin. Toutefois, il est important que l&rsquo;augmentation du nombre de pixels n&rsquo;implique pas une r\u00e9duction de la taille de chaque pixel. Et c&rsquo;est l\u00e0 que nous commen\u00e7ons \u00e0 comprendre le mot de la discorde : la r\u00e9solution !<\/p>\n<h3>Ne pas confondre r\u00e9solution et d\u00e9finition \ud83d\ude45<\/h3>\n<p>La r\u00e9solution est une densit\u00e9 de pixels, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire un nombre de pixels par unit\u00e9 de surface.<\/p>\n<p>Si nous entrons dans la course aux m\u00e9gapixels, commen\u00e7ons par une taille de pixel constante. Dans ce cas, pour passer d&rsquo;une d\u00e9finition d&rsquo;environ 20 m\u00e9gapixels \u00e0 plus de 60 m\u00e9gapixels, on passera d&rsquo;un capteur au format APS-C (16mm x 24mm) \u00e0 un capteur plein format (24mm x 36mm). Dans cette situation, nous augmentons non seulement la taille du capteur, mais aussi celle de tout ce qui l&rsquo;entoure, et donc sa masse. Ainsi, pour une m\u00eame altitude d&rsquo;acquisition, une bien meilleure distance d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage, souvent appel\u00e9e distance d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage au sol (GSD), sera obtenue avec un grand capteur comportant plus de pixels.<\/p>\n<h3>Les smartphones ne volent pas !<\/h3>\n<p>Nous pouvons d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ceux qui auraient l&rsquo;id\u00e9e saugrenue de faire voler les derniers smartphones 108Mpx sur un drone. Avec les notions ci-dessus, nous comprenons que la haute d\u00e9finition de ces minuscules capteurs (6,3 mm x 8,4 mm), int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans un coin du t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, r\u00e9sulte d&rsquo;une taille de pixel extr\u00eamement petite (0,7 \u00b5m). Ainsi, tr\u00e8s peu de lumi\u00e8re atteindra chaque pixel.<\/p>\n<p>Il faudra alors recourir \u00e0 l&rsquo;ISO qui augmentera le bruit. En outre, la taille des pixels est parfois si petite que le pouvoir de s\u00e9paration de l&rsquo;optique n&rsquo;est pas suffisant. La m\u00eame lumi\u00e8re ira sur plusieurs pixels c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te, annihilant l&rsquo;avantage d&rsquo;avoir une multitude de pixels. De plus, la plupart du temps, la technique du \u00ab\u00a0pixel-binning\u00a0\u00bb est utilis\u00e9e par les fabricants pour combiner des pixels adjacents entre eux afin d&rsquo;obtenir une photo d&rsquo;une d\u00e9finition bien inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle annonc\u00e9e. La qualit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;image ne sera pas du tout bonne pour les travaux de photogramm\u00e9trie. Cependant, ce n&rsquo;est pas la seule valeur \u00e0 prendre en compte, car de nombreux autres param\u00e8tres sont tout aussi importants en fonction de l&rsquo;utilisation que vous ferez de votre cam\u00e9ra pour vos projets LiDAR. D\u00e9crire ses besoins et s&rsquo;informer aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;experts de l&rsquo;industrie LiDAR est le meilleur moyen d&rsquo;\u00e9viter de commettre une erreur bas\u00e9e sur des croyances
