Ce sont des capteurs actifs, qui \u00e9mettent un rayonnement \u00e0 une longueur d&rsquo;onde donn\u00e9e et re\u00e7oivent un signal en retour. Il existe trois techniques principales pour d\u00e9terminer une mesure de distance \u00e0 partir de l&rsquo;\u00e9mission et de la r\u00e9ception d&rsquo;un rayonnement laser : la triangulation, le temps de vol et le d\u00e9phasage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Syst\u00e8mes de mesure par triangulation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ils sont compos\u00e9s d&rsquo;un \u00e9metteur laser et d&rsquo;une cam\u00e9ra fix\u00e9e entre eux par un angle constant (figure 1). La distance et l&rsquo;orientation entre la cam\u00e9ra et l&rsquo;\u00e9metteur laser sont connues. Le laser \u00e9met sur l&rsquo;objet cible un motif qui est visualis\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;image de la cam\u00e9ra. En fonction de la distance \u00e0 la surface, le point appara\u00eet \u00e0 un endroit diff\u00e9rent dans le champ de vision de la cam\u00e9ra. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la trigonom\u00e9trie, il est alors possible de d\u00e9terminer la distance entre la source laser et l&rsquo;objet cible. Cette technique est principalement utilis\u00e9e pour les syst\u00e8mes LiDAR portables qui fonctionnent \u00e0 courte distance.<\/p>\n<p>Pour ce type de syst\u00e8me, l&rsquo;erreur de mesure est directement li\u00e9e \u00e0 la distance de l&rsquo;objet mesur\u00e9. Pour cette raison, il est principalement utilis\u00e9 pour une gamme limit\u00e9e d&rsquo;applications, souvent moins de 10 m. Connaissant l&rsquo;indice de r\u00e9fraction du milieu et utilisant la vitesse de la lumi\u00e8re, il est alors possible de d\u00e9duire la distance de d\u00e9placement de la lumi\u00e8re (figure 2).<\/p>\n<p>La vitesse d&rsquo;acquisition constitue la limite des performances des syst\u00e8mes laser ToF. Ces syst\u00e8mes doivent d&rsquo;abord recevoir le signal de retour avant d&rsquo;\u00e9mettre une autre impulsion laser. Mais selon les besoins, il est possible d&rsquo;augmenter la cadence des tirs laser (nombre de points) mais au d\u00e9triment de la distance. Ils sont utilis\u00e9s pour les calculs de distance \u00e0 longue port\u00e9e, tels que les syst\u00e8mes LiDAR pour l&rsquo;espace, l&rsquo;air ou l&rsquo;automobile. En le modulant (en amplitude de fr\u00e9quence), il est alors possible de mesurer la diff\u00e9rence de phase entre 2 faisceaux. Les faisceaux sont s\u00e9par\u00e9s \u00e0 la sortie du syst\u00e8me LiDAR. L&rsquo;un va directement au d\u00e9tecteur et l&rsquo;autre va \u00e0 la cible et revient.<\/p>\n<p>Ces syst\u00e8mes de mesure ont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une vitesse d&rsquo;acquisition des donn\u00e9es plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e, une meilleure r\u00e9solution, un bruit plus faible et une plus grande pr\u00e9cision que les syst\u00e8mes de mesure du temps de vol. La limite de ces syst\u00e8mes d\u00e9pend du type de modulation utilis\u00e9 (ap\u00e9riodique ou p\u00e9riodique).
