Transforming Sea Farm Monitoring with the YellowScan Navigator Topo-Bathymetric LiDAR
In partnership with VisionAir Production AB, YellowScan recently took part in the launch of the SeaDeep project, a European initiative running from 2026 to 2029 that brings together 30 partners across 11 countries, including research institutes, technology developers, aquaculture companies, fisheries stakeholders, and industry networks.
Coordinated by the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, the project aims to develop, test, and demonstrate innovative solutions in real production environments.
As part of this collaboration, YellowScan is exploring how the Navigator topo-bathymetric LiDAR can support the monitoring of sea farms and algae production sites. By simultaneously mapping coastal environments above and below the water surface, the Navigator enables the creation of detailed 3D digital twins that provide valuable insights into farm infrastructure, seabed conditions, and environmental changes.
We look forward to contributing to this ambitious project and demonstrating how advanced geospatial technologies can support a more efficient and sustainable future for aquaculture. 🌿🚁🌊
